About Our Medical Professionals
All of our laser technicians have extensive training in laser science, safety, and proper use. The Laser Clinic is operated by professionals with decades of medical experience. Additionally, our technicians have all participated in formal, ASLMS accredited laser training programs and hours of hands-on laser treatment training, which prepared them to serve our patients in Columbia, Missouri.
Sara Crowder
Sara Crowder, MD is a Medical Doctor and has been the owner and director of The Laser Clinic since November 2016. Dr. Crowder was initially a client of The Laser Clinic and was impressed by the technology. She saw The Laser Clinic as an opportunity to bring comfort, convenience, and safety to all people seeking to remove unwanted hair. In her job as board certified Gynecologic Oncologist, Dr. Crowder is a surgeon and works daily with advanced technology and recognizes its ability improve people’s lives. A Columbia native, Dr. Crowder attended Hickman High School and the University of Missouri. She got her MD from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in 1994. Her further advanced medical training was done in Texas. She has been in practice in Columbia since 2002.
Kari Rippeto
Kari Rippeto, CST is a Laser Technician who has been at The Laser Clinic since November 2016. She has many years of experience in the medical field and specifically as a certified surgical technician in the operating room. Her passion is using technology and procedures to improve patient’s lives. Kari has worked with Dr. Crowder for over 4 years and enjoys all aspects of patient care and serving all types of diverse clients. She is a licensed esthetician, and has years of experience as a professional hairstylist and owned and managed her own salon before transitioning into the medical field.
Rachel Mallett
Rachel Mallett, RN, FNP-BC is a Registered Nurse and board certified Nurse Practitioner with years of experience in the medical field. She has been working at the Laser Clinic since November 2016. She started her career working with kids with cancer, and has worked with Dr. Crowder caring for women with cancer since 2004. As a Nurse Practitioner, she meets women daily who struggle to deal with unwanted hair, and the inconvenience and side effects of repeated waxing and shaving. Rachel sees her work at The Laser Clinic as an opportunity to help clients live happier, healthier lives without the hassle of unwanted hair.
Beverly Nemer
Beverly Nemer, CLT is a Licensed Practical Nurse and is the founder of The Laser Clinic. Beverly and her husband, Dr. Robert Nemer opened The Laser Clinic in November of 1999 as the first full time laser clinic in Missouri. When Bev and Dr. Nemer retired, they sold the clinic, but they continue to stay involved as consultants. Beverly also continues to treat her clients part time. Beverly has vast and varied life experiences (ask her sometime, she has fascinating stories!). She was at the forefront of clinical applications of laser technology. In preparation for opening The Laser Clinic, she received 150 hours of didactic and hands-on training at the only accredited laser college in the United States, Rocky Mountain Laser College in Denver, Colorado. For years, Bev has worked tirelessly to integrate cosmetic and therapeutic laser solutions for women and men. Bev relishes introducing the benefits of laser treatments to continued generations of clients and seeing the practice she and Doc started move forward.
